Fleet Defender is a specialized SaaS platform designed to secure and monitor commercial freight fleets in real-time. The system integrates with in-cab tablets to provide constant oversight of vehicle health and security. Beyond standard logistics, the platform focuses on identifying high-stakes risks such as cyberattacks, fuel theft, and route deviations.
The project required balancing high-density data with immediate usability. Because fleet managers need to track everything from fuel levels to active cyber threats simultaneously, the main challenge was preventing cognitive overload.
The result was a modular ecosystem that separates critical real-time monitoring from long-term data analysis. This structure allows users to toggle between a "bird’s-eye view" of the entire fleet and "deep-dive" analytics without losing context, ensuring that urgent security breaches are prioritized over routine maintenance.
The visual strategy focused on balancing high-performance usability with a clean, professional aesthetic. To ensure seamless implementation and scalability, I established a robust design system using the Flowbite library as a foundation.
The final result is a comprehensive, multi-platform ecosystem that successfully bridges the gap between driver-side monitoring and centralized security management. By aligning design and engineering from the start, we delivered a solution that is both highly functional and easy to maintain.
The Results
Real-time Scalability
Successfully implemented a monitoring system for 5,000+ active units with zero latency in critical data updates.
Operational Efficiency
Achieved sub-hour incident response and resolution by optimizing internal workflows and prioritizing alert systems.
Critical Monitoring
Engineered a robust 'Live View' map interface featuring prioritized FEMA, cyber-threat, and fuel consumption alerts.
